Eyes on: Romulo Café is Featured in Premier Hospitality Magazine

We were thrilled to see that one of our recent projects was profiled in Premier Hospitality magazine. Romulo Café was first created in Malina, and now brings a taste of the Philippines to the heart of London. Based in the affluent borough of Kensington, Romulo Café offers a 70-seater dining experience with a chic and casual style, and comfort in mind.

This was an exciting project and we loved bringing the Romulo family vision to life, creating a space that reflected the families heritage, yet was also functional and practical, as well as beautiful.

Shad Thames is Featured in the Evening Standard Newspaper

When we were approached about creating a roof terrace conversion at a Shad Thames warehouse flat, we were excited to take on the project. Fast forward to November 2018, and the project was featured in the Evening Standard Newspaper.

Last used in the ‘80s, the warehouse was converted into flats with an industrial vibe. Jenny Clare and her husband are the proud owners of one of the flats, which she bought after being gazumped on another flat in 2014. On top of the flat sat an empty water tower, with waist high sides and a hole with an awkwardly hinged glass door. Jenny saw a great opportunity here, as the water tower offered spectacular 360 views across London.

The couple worked with a local architect to design a usable space and get the plans approved. We then came in and made the plans a reality. The tower now features two usable spaces, and access to an amazing roof terrace, completely transforming Jenny’s home.

Trinity Court Featured in Premier Construction

We worked with Prestige Architects to transform a dated three-bedroom penthouse in the heart of London’s W2 district. The project was such a success that it was featured in Premier Construction magazine in 2018.

The renovation was shortlisted for an SBID award in the category of ‘residential apartments under 1M’. We were the main contractor for the project, and the aim was to build a luxurious modern penthouse apartment with a focus on natural materials and bespoke design. This was a truly enjoyable project for all those involved, and the final result really celebrates the talent of all those involved.

We are proud to announce that we’ve won a Silver Considerate Constructors Scheme Award at the National Company and Supplier Awards.

This award is given in recognition of exceptional commitment to raising standards of considerate construction. We’d like to take this opportunity to say well done to everyone involved.

We were thrilled to attend the award ceremony in London on the 31st of October, 2019. It felt fantastic to be among the winners and to meet so many great companies and team members.

The National Company and Supplier Awards celebrate companies and suppliers that are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The awards go to those that have implemented the highest standards of consideration towards the general public, local area, workforce and the environment. The National Awards is important in our industry, as it recognises the efforts made in raising industry standards, both large and small, and is something we are very proud to be part of.

Only the highest performing companies and suppliers are awarded, and we were thrilled to be recognised for our work.

Walk Away with Bronze at the Company CCS Awards

In the middle of what has been a very strange year for us all, particularly in the construction industry, we were awarded a Bronze Considerate Constructors Scheme Award for 2020.

This was a great achievement for all of the team at Volute London, and we couldn’t have been prouder. Unfortunately due to Covid, the award ceremony was unable to go ahead, and so all of the winners were announced online. That didn’t stop our team members from celebrating (separately at home of course), as we were all thrilled with the result.

As part of The National Company and Supplier Awards, this is the second year in a row we have walked away with a Considerate Constructors Scheme Award, after we won silver in 2019. We feel incredibly proud to have been recognised for our work again, and continue to support the important work that the National Company and Supplier Awards do, in recognising the efforts made to raise industry standards.

Volute London Featured by RIBA Alongside the Shad Thames

As the main contractors on the Shad Thames water tower project, we were thrilled to see this transformation featured by the Royal Institute of Architecture.

Located above the fourth floor warehouse loft apartment, we transformed a previously windowless and uninsulated space into a light-drenched living space with access to 360 views across London. We completely repurposed the space, creating two mezzanine levels, the first used as a workspace, and the second a seating area with striking views. Frameless skylights and glass landings keep the space light and airy, as well as providing natural light to the floor below, and drawing the eye up towards the sky.
